Thank you
The Anti-Bullying Planning Committee would like to thank all those who attended the Summit.  Your ideas are being compiled with a report to follow.

Our Goal

The Rhode Island Anti-bullying Summit Planning Committee is committed to engage a unified effort on measures the entire state of Rhode Island can take to prevent, control, and eradicate bullying, intolerance, and violence in our cities, towns, and schools.

Our Invitation

We are the Rhode Island Anti-Bullying Summit Planning Committee, consisting of several organizations that have come together to start a dialogue on measures the entire state of Rhode Island can take to prevent, control and eradicate bullying, intolerance and violence in our cities, towns and schools.

We will be hosting an anti-bullying summit on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the University of Rhode Island’s Providence Campus from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.  We are requesting seven (7) persons – a teacher, a principal or superintendent, a police officer, the mayor (or his/her designee), a parent, a student and a school committee member – to attend the summit as your community’s representatives.  We anticipate representatives from all thirty-six (36) communities in Rhode Island to be in attendance.  These 200 or more participants will brainstorm, discuss and come to a consensus about bullying and violence issues that are plaguing our communities.  The ultimate goal will be to create a resolution for a uniform statewide anti-bullying policy.

Your participation ensures your community as being part of the solution to ending bullying in Rhode Island.  Each community is asked to submit a $100 fee for the seven member team to help defray the cost of this event which will include breakfast and lunch as well as materials.  Checks can be made payable to CABINS (Community Against Bullying in Schools  501(c)(3) Tax ID # 26-2446928).  Responses are currently being accepted through a deadline of October 1, 2010.  Participating communities will be listed on our website (www.Anti-BullyingSummit.com) as they are confirmed.

We look forward to working with you on this worthwhile endeavor.  For questions, please email us at info@Anti-BullyingSummit.com or call Moses Saygbe (Crime Prevention Specialist at the Department of the Attorney General) at (401) 274-4400 x 2469.  We thank you in advance for all Rhode Islanders who will benefit from your participation.

Sincerely,

The Anti-Bullying Summit Planning Committee
